MAXIMILIAN RÖDEL | Salon Intervention

opening October 7: With Berlin-based artist Maximilian Rödel, we are thrilled to present the first edition of SALON Interventions, a new pop-up format within the gallery’s Salon. As the art market is constantly shifting, SALON Interventions allows the Salon to move with it. Rather than over-engineering artistic dialogues, the format leaves room for new constellations to emerge as opportunities arise.
For its first edition, paintings by Max Rödel enter into conversation with the work of Citlali L. Halfar and extend beyond the Salon into the wider gallery space. Rödel’s large-format canvases navigate the space between abstraction and perception and defy a single interpretation. Color unfolds as a spatial and temporal process; through layering, different moments in the process of making are brought into relation with one another.
Maximilian Rödel (*1984) studied at the HBK Braunschweig and UdK Berlin. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Indigo Museum, Ahmedabad (India), Carvalho Park, New York (US), documenta 15 in Kassel, and Neuer Aachener Kunstverein.
