opening May 21: MAX FREUND | Sommersprossen

Galerie Andreae is pleased to present Max Freund’s first solo exhibition, Sommersprossen ("freckles"), at the gallery in the framwork of our SALON.

Max Freund (*1992) lives and works in Vienna and works in painting, printmaking, and drawing. He completed his studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Prof. Judith Eisler in 2017 and has since participated in various international exhibitions and residency programs.

In Freund’s artistic practice, the exploration of time as an inescapable constant is enriched by diverse artistic approaches and materials, enabling a multifaceted investigation. By engaging with a multitude of sources—ranging from pop-cultural phenomena and subcultural niches to art-historical references—the artist integrates intercultural systems of signs and images that shape the hieroglyphs of our time.
