REGINE SCHUMANN | Contemporary Istanbul
September 23–27: For over 30 years, Regine Schumann has been exploring the themes of light, color, and form as a visual artist, using the unique material of fluorescent acrylic glass. Vibrantly colored, fluid forms and installations—some of which span the entire space—made of acrylic glass envelop the room, saturate it with color, and lend its architecture a new warmth. Color and light, composition and intensity are central elements that characterize the artist’s work. In the tradition of constructive-concrete art, Regine Schumann has developed her own geometric formal language that articulates itself within the space and enters into a dynamic dialogue with light and color.
Schumann’s works allow the eye to wander into other dimensions; they create a connection between the purely physical nature of acrylic and the immaterial quality that arises from its encounter with light. Schumann’s work is a continuous and constant exploration of color, light, and their expressive potential. From natural and artificial light to black light, the works interact with variations in light, constantly creating new effects of color, shadow, and surface. This unpretentious, open aesthetic in Regine Schumann’s works, combined with technical perfection, creates—in its simple clarity—a contrast to the chaos and turbulence of everyday life. They encourage reflection on one’s own perception and invite us to pause and reflect.
Galerie Andreae is presenting new works by Regine Schumann in a focused solo presentation at the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul.

Berlin PopUp Regine Schumann x TRXBE | Gallery Weekend
On the occasion of Gallery Weekend Berlin, Galerie ANDREAE invites you to an exclusive Friends & Collectors pop-up at the premises of the Berlin-based creative agency TRBXE.
At the premises on the culturally and historically significant Schinkelplatz, ANDREAE, in collaboration with TRBXE, presents a curated selection of works by the internationally renowned light artist Regine Schumann. Schumann’s works are not meant to be viewed, but experienced. Light is an active component of the sculpture, just as much as its colour scheme, which functions not as a surface but as a spatial event.
