TIM BERRESHEIM | Stille Beugung Diffraction Pattern Solo Exhibition

‚Stille Beugung Diffraction Pattern‘ presents Berresheim’s newest works and extends his long-term series ‚Houses of My Time‘. For over twenty years, he has developed an artistic language that fuses digital and analogue processes—using 3D software, photography, painting, and laser scanning as one interconnected system. His images are technology-assisted, never computer-generated, consciously positioned outside the discourse of generative AI.

Revisiting sites from a life shaped by curiosity and resistance to the ordinary, Berresheim captures locations via 3D laser scans that become point-cloud spaces—heterotopic environments where memory, architecture, and narrative overlap.

Trained in dramaturgy before turning to art, he treats image-making as a form of directing: staging figures within these scanned spaces to create a new, diffractive mode of seeing.

Some of the new works merge oil painting and high-resolution printing, bringing analogue and digital gestures into direct dialogue. Engaging with thinkers such as Martin Heidegger and Donna Haraway, Berresheim expands the logic of central perspective and offers a contemporary answer to authorship in a technologically augmented world.

Tim Berresheim (*1975, Aachen) is represented in major collections including MoMA (New York), the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation (Los Angeles), and the Collection of Contemporary Art of the Federal Republic of Germany amongst others.
