FRANCIS ZEISCHEGG | Kunstmuseum Heidenheim

Die Ganze Zeit, opening June 20: An exhibition about the dominance of time and its presence in the here and now. Prussian punctuality is still a familiar concept to us today, but what does the late 19th century have to do with our current understanding of time? The exhibition Die Ganze Zeit ("the whole time") explores the intertwining of regimes of time, power, and social order from the age of industrialization to the present day and addresses processes of social transformation.

The exhibition at  Kunstmuseum Heidenheim weaves together historical artifacts with contemporary artistic practices to create a multi-layered narrative. It follows the thesis that control over time is synonymous with control over social resources—a realization that was systematized during the Gründerzeit in a way that remains effective to this day. Power over time manifested itself on various levels: in the structuring of everyday life, in the organization of work, and in the synchronization of entire societies and global trade.

Featuring works by: Alma Bille Stræde, Mehtap Baydu, Anna Borgman, Ingo Gerken, Manaf Halbouni, Candida Höfer, Karin Lind, Carsten Nicolai, Sophia Pompéry, Ahmed Ramadan, Liza Sivakova, Ignacio Uriarte & Francis Zeischegg.
