LUKAS GLINKOWSKI | 30 years Villa Aurora Los Angeles

To mark the 30th anniversary of Villa Aurora in Los Angeles, Lukas Glinkowski is taking part in the project "Kunst für die Stadt". Former fellows were invited to create large-scale posters across Berlin — bringing art directly into the urban space and to the people. His work, "Connect the Dots", depicts a firefighter and a fire truck — composed of more than 14,000 meticulously placed dots. The image references the wildfires in Los Angeles and California — a recurring and ever-present reality in that region. Conceived as a connect-the-dots game, the work is intentionally open in form: It invites the audience to participate actively – by connecting the dots or through spontaneous gestures such as graffiti. These interventions are not only welcome but form an integral part of the artistic process. At Kottbusser Tor in Berlin until October 19. From October to December 2019, Lukas Glinkowski was an artist-in-residence at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
