LUNITA-JULY DORN | Achim Freyer Kunsthaus Berlin

For Berlin Art Week 2026, the Achim Freyer Kunsthaus in Berlin presents the first institutional solo exhibition by gallery artist Lunita-July Dorn (b. 1999). In large paintings and drawings, Dorn repeatedly portrays herself as a fictional protagonist. Whether alone or in groups, her own portrait serves as the starting point for a captivating painterly self-reflection and graceful, autofictional narratives. In her works, sketches and overpaintings, layers, cross-outs, and passages brought back to light remain deliberately visible. Thus, her search for identity does not appear to be complete, but rather a state of constant transformation.
